all about wilson brothers racing
Cameron and
Benn Wilson are extremely passionate about their
motorsport, they live and breathe it every second of the day! Their
passion is reflected in their work, with Wilson Brothers Racing the
specialists in all things motorsport.
Cameron and Benn were raised at race tracks, with
their father Murray a regular competitor in F2 and Clubman sports car
racing throughout the 1970s and ‘80s. It wasn’t long before Cameron and
Benn hit the track themselves, starting out in Rookie karts before
progressing to other classes, such as Clubman Light, Junior
International, Junior Clubman and Junior National, picking up a swag of
club, state and national titles along the way.
After the unfortunate passing of their mother in
1990, Cameron and Benn stepped away from racing to progress their
business careers. For several years, the pair successfully ran go-kart
hire centres all along the Queensland coast, before Benn took on an
apprenticeship at Audi Centre Gold Coast, while Cameron began to import
high performance cars from Japan.
The racing bug bit again in the late 1990s, after
the pair helped friends out with their motorsport programs for some
time. In 1999, Cameron started racing in Geminis, and was instantly on
the front running pace in this very competitive one make class, which
attracted big fields to Lakeside and Queensland Raceway.
Over the years Wilson Brothers Racing has been
involved in most forms of circuit racing, including Saloon Cars, HQ
Holdens, Sports Sedans, Performance Car Racing and V8 Utes. Benn spent
a season driving for Team Brock in the V8 Utes, making it to the podium
and growing an invaluable bond with the Brock family.
Wilson Brothers racing continues to help foster new
up and coming talent in many classes, and is looking for more continued
success in the future.
