Solid Saturday for Wilson Brothers Racing

Wilson Brothers Racing put in a solid and reliable effort to qualify ninth and 11th for tomorrows WPS Bathurst 12 Hour.

Starting from ninth position will be WBR’s car number 25 with a strong 2:33.9542 from the combination of Kurt Kratzmann, Brent Collins and Inky Tulloch.

The crew were kept busy between the morning practice session and qualifying when they installed the race gearbox in the car.

Earlier in the day, the car was tenth fastest with a practice time of 2:35.6694.

The all rookie open-wheel team of James Winslow, Daniel Schulz and Andy Knight in car 26 continued their steep learning curve by qualifying 11th with a best lap time of 2:34.3469.

Earlier in the day the crew had the ninth best practice time with a strong 2:34.9942.

With the mechanical woes from yesterday a distant memory, the car suffered a minor hiccup in the practice session when the right front tyre deflated with Knight behind the wheel.

Qualifying took place on a dry track after earlier rain threatened to disrupt proceedings.

Team principal Cameron Wilson was pleased with the progress of the team to date.

“Unfortunately we were caught out a little bit by the weather conditions sending the cars out with too much tyre pressure, but all in all the boys have done a very good job today,” said Wilson.

“James Winslow will be starting the race in car number 26, but for 25 the team are still discussing tactics, with Brent Collins likely to take the wheel for the first stint.”

It will be an early start for Wilson Brothers Racing with the 12 hour race commencing at 6:30am, with regular updates posted on the WBR website at www.wilsonbrothersracing.com.
